The Maryland Theatre is a historical landmark and is documented on the National Registration of Historic Places. Built-in 1915, The Maryland Theatre is recognized as a prominent architectural landmark as it is one of the few remaining neo-classical, twentieth-century theatres, designed by renowned architect, Thomas W. Lamb.
Facility Tours for Area Visitors & Groups
Complimentary tours are available during business hours with 48 business hours’ notice. Tours last approximately 30 to 60 minutes but perhaps longer depending on the size of the group.
Our staff offers an abbreviated tour that is approximately 30 minutes or a full facility tour which is approximately 60 minutes. Should any member of your party have mobility, sensory or hearing disabilities, special arrangements can be made to accommodate their needs. Please notify staff when booking your tour about any additional needs you or your party may have.
Tours are available by appointment only and are free of charge, donations to support the preservation of the facility are encouraged. Tours may be requested at the box office, by calling 301-790-2000 or emailing email@example.com
Field Trips of The Maryland Theatre
In keeping with the mission of The Maryland Theatre, to support our community at large, field trips groups are welcome to schedule a complimentary tour of the facility. Groups must schedule a tour minimum of 30 days before the desired date, and all tours must occur during traditional business hours. The performance and event schedule does take precedent in terms of availability; therefore, we encourage groups to have a few dates in mind!
Tours are approximately 30-60 minute in length, with opportunity for a Q&A session tailored to curriculum. Depending on the number of students, smaller groups may need to be assigned for tour purposes. Groups can decide to eat lunch at The Maryland Theatre and for this, a small cleaning fee will be assessed.
